· 7 high-altitude new passenger car prototypes put into actual operation in Tibet

In order to ensure the safety of the plateau roads, the research and development work of the plateau new passenger cars initiated by the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China to organize a number of well-known domestic bus brands has made significant progress. Seven high-class prototype passenger cars were unveiled in Lhasa on December 25, 2014. It was put into Tibet and tested in many places.

It is understood that Zhengzhou Yutong, Xiamen Jinlong, Suzhou Jinlong, Xiamen Jinlv four manufacturers completed the development of the seven new high-class passenger Car Prototypes within 37 days.

Qi Zhihao, secretary-general of the China Highway Society Bus Branch and professor-level senior engineer, said that the high-altitude new passenger Car Prototype has adopted a high-prototype engine. The engine calibration height has reached an altitude of over 4,000 meters, which is the first time in China and improves the braking pressure of the vehicle. The safety performance of the passenger car is greatly improved.

According to Qi Zhihao, the prototype car also installed oxygen supply equipment for passengers in the car according to the climatic conditions in Tibet, and also enhanced the rapid heating function.

In addition, the comfort of these high-altitude models has also been improved, and the seat spacing has been increased during design to improve ride comfort. At the same time, some vehicles that will be put into tourist passenger transport will also be equipped with on-board WIFI, and a mobile phone charging device will be set beside the seat to facilitate passengers' mobile phone charging.

This batch of prototypes will also be tested for 7000 kilometers under poor road conditions such as the plateau winding mountain road. After the relevant experts have appraised, it is expected to be introduced to Tibet in batches to change the structure of the Tibet passenger car and gradually realize the full coverage of the new type of passenger car in the plateau.

Ding Ye, member of the Standing Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee and Executive Vice-President, said that the research and development of the new passenger car prototypes on the Tibetan Plateau is of great significance for transforming and upgrading the road transport services in Tibet.
